Exercise #421: Self Knowledge
Posted 5/20/11

Today's exercise comes from Sue Frank.

Write about an experience of returning to a childhood event, place or situation. Show us how it was to go back. Then give us your reaction to it now in a summary. How did it change? How do we wish to remember it? Was returning a good idea? Why or why not?

You may, if you wish, show a character tackling this exercise instead.

Critiquers, you might choose to answer these questions for critiquing the piece:
     * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author.
     * Could you relate to the SUB? Why or why not?

Word limit: 1000 for the return, 200 for the summary
Please use the subject line:
             SUB: Exercise #421/yourname

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: Seeing how our perceptions (or memories) change can be an enlightening experience.
