Exercise #55

Exercise #55: Situation
Posted 5/14/04

I passed a billboard last week that didn't have a standard ad on it. The space was a blank, bright white, except for graffiti. We've all seen graffiti, but this one was different. First, it was legible. Second, it tugged at my curiosity and writer's imagination.

In spray painted letters, it said, "I'm sorry Kim for everything, Craig."

There's a story there. I wish I knew what it was.

For this exercise, give your character something so important, so vital, to impart to another character or to us, that he/she/it uses unconventional means to relay the message. Show us the delivery of that message. (Like our graffiti friend Craig.)
