Exercise #699: Self Knowledge
Posted 2/17/17

A message arrived for you today.

Stop now and think about the message for a few minutes. How did it arrive? What did it say? When you have a firm visual about the message, read on.

I mean it. Stop and think first!

                    *                                *                                     *

For today’s exercise, show us how you felt upon receiving the message. We want to share your joy, your sorrow or your perplexity. You may choose to share the contents of the message or not, as you wish.

As always, you may choose to show a character tackling this exercise.

Critiquers, you might choose to answer these questions for critiquing the piece:
     * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author.
     * Was the reaction clear enough for you to feel or relate to it? Why or why not?

Word limit: 1200
Please use the subject line:
             SUB: Exercise #699/yourname

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: This one is two-fold. First, the outward emotional reaction may tell you something but writing about it in a manner intended to share it should tell you more. Secondly, the message itself may reveal something hidden.
