Exercise #123: Craft

Try out a different style or genre. If you normally write romance, try a mystery. If your preference is science fiction, try a western. If you're one of our poets, try a different style of that. For instance, if you like free verse, you might try an Elfchen for this exercise:

From A.W.A.D. - “This kind of a poem contains eleven words and is called “Elfchen” in Germany, which means “little eleven” or “little elve.” It has to be written in this form:

First line: one word
second line: two words
third line: three words
fourth line: four words
fifth line: one word.”
