Exercise #36: Craft

Description is a talent writers use in every piece they write. A good description of setting puts the reader there. A good description of an object creates recognition. A good description of the main character lets the reader relate.

For this exercise, describe something common. Do not use the object's name, but you can describe its looks, its use, its history, or any combination. Have a character look at and use it in your piece, if you like.

Perhaps we can even guess what it is in our crits.
