Exercise #1024: Self Knowledge Posted 3/15/24
Do you have a Happy Place? In books and movies, one character tells another “Go to your Happy Place,” like that will make whatever evil thing that’s happening go away.
So for today’s exercise, find somewhere to sit quietly for a bit of time. Sit, get comfortable, then go to your Happy Place. Spend a bit of time there. When you’re done, come back and write!
You can write an essay about your time there, “where” it is, how you chose this as your Happy Place, whether you’ve physically been there if it’s a real place, etc. Or, you can show us a scene involving your Happy Place.
As always, you may choose to show a character answering this exercise instead.
Critiquers, you might try answering these questions for critiquing the piece: * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author. * Could you relate to this piece? Why or why not?
