Exercise #1026: Craft
Posted  4/5/24

Recently I’ve noticed plot lines in songs. It seems when you put the words with music, you’re allowed a lot more leeway on making the plot make sense.

Today, find a song you like and digest it down to its plot.

For your SUB, include the plot points (boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back) and the artist and lyricist. Then, write a scene from the plot. Try to avoid writing it the exact way it is in the song.

Bonus: If you find a song that has plot problems, fix them in your work.

Critiquers, along with the usual grammar, spelling, etc, review, consider these questions:
     * Could you relate to the piece? Why or why not?
     * Was this helpful to you as a writer? Why or why not?

Word limit: 1200
Please use the subject line
       SUB: Exercise #1026/yourname
