Exercise #189: Pick Six Posted 12/8/06
Roll a die* three times, to give yourself three random numbers. Got ‘em? Each number will correspond to a section below. The first number will be your choice from the first set of six, the second result will be your choice for the second set, etc. Got it? Okay, here we go.
Your character:
1. little boy 2. little girl 3. college student 4. banker 5. politician 6. traveling salesman
Carries a stuffed toy:
1. horse 2. train 3. tiger 4. cartoon character 5. Raggedy-Ann (or other famous doll) 6. dinosaur
Your character runs into someone familiar. Holding the stuffed toy out, your character says, “Listen!” The stuffed toy says,:
1. “Go check the porch.” 2. “They killed the boy off so I put the book back on the shelf.” 3. “Artificial intelligence in toasters; definitely a bad idea.” 4. “I'd go anyway.” 5. “I can't figure out my eyes.” 6. “Okay, I need another strand.”
Now the hard part: show us this encounter. You may choose to start at this point, or show us the events leading up to this point. Remember to let us know what your choices were.
