Exercise #238: Self Knowledge
Posted 11/16/07

Warning: this topic may not be one some of you want to think about.

The oddest conversations happen around the water cooler at work. This week’s topic is something I’ve talked to others about once in awhile, in different words. As our parents and other loved ones age, we notice that either their mind seems to go, or their body does. Rarely do both stay “good,” and rarely do both of them go in the same individual (at least not until late in the game).

If you had to choose one, would you rather be healthy with the mind of a turnip or have a really sharp mind with a non-functional body? Think it over carefully before you answer and then tell us your choice and why you chose it.

Alternatively, you may write about a character facing such a choice.
