Exercise #271 Part 2

Exercise #271: Craft (part 2)
Posted 7/4/08

How do you write? Some authors plot the whole story while others “see” events unfold and simply think of themselves as historians. What’s your style?

Have you completed part 1? If not, go back and follow those directions before reading these.

For part 2, tell us how you did it. Did you plot? How? No? Then how did you write your part 1? Be as detailed as possible.

Critiquers, find the connection in part 1 with the seed line. Does the SUB fit with what was given? (He'd thought the place elegant, until he was within it and saw the cobwebs and dust.) In part 2, can you relate to the author’s style?

Word limit: 500 for part 1, 500 for part 2, submitted together in one email message
Please use the subject line
   SUB: Exercise #271/yourname

For the truly adventurous, you may write to the line below, consciously using someone else’s way of writing. (One SUB per person, please.)

The tools might be rusty, but I couldn’t tell by the quality of the work.

Word limit: 500
