Exercise #278

Exercise #278: Spark Line
Posted 8/22/08

Today I’m reviving the old category of Spark Line. The first Spark Line exercises ended up closer to Hodge Podge, and then Hodge Podge sort of shouldered them aside. So, introducing the new and improved Spark Line exercise!

In these exercises, you will get one to three lines, usually pulled from conversation I was part of or overheard. Do whatever you like with the spark line prompt. Use it as a starting point, an ending point, take one word out of it and play with that, or whatever - ahem - sparks your interest.

Use this spark line in any way you see fit:
You never know, someday a snail may save my life. -- Gloria Duran

Critiquers, look for the snail! Remember, the snail may not appear. See if you can figure out what the connection is between the SUB and the prompt, if there isn’t a snail.

Note the increased word limit.

Word limit: 1500
Please use the subject line:
       SUB: Exercise #278/yourname
