Exercise #299: Self Knowledge
Posted 1/16/09

Today’s exercise comes from some questions I found on the ‘Net. They’re like the classic “you have time to save one person from a room of five, which do you save?” Of them, I chose this one for us:

Life Savings. You must choose to spare one life: either a religious leader who to all known facts is a good and decent man who has brought solace to thousands or a scientist who tests as brilliant but has never accomplished anything spectacular. Who do you save and why?

(Question from http://marcochacon.livejournal.com/561319.html.)

You may, if you prefer, show a character answering the question.

Critiquers, as always be careful critiquing these self-knowledge exercises. Tip: see if the reasoning makes sense to you, even if you would have chosen differently.

Word limit: 1200

This self-knowledge exercise should give you a chance to review your morals.
