Exercise #382: Self Knowledge Posted 8/20/10
Show us a shopping trip. Groceries, clothes, a pony? You are buying something; show us how you do it and how the something gets to your home.
I’m hoping most of you will participate, as this one doesn’t really become a self-knowledge exercise until you see how others shop and compare your own experience. Jump in and show us a shopping trip!
You may, if you wish, show a character tackling this exercise instead.
Critiquers, with an exercise like this one, you might choose to answer these questions rather than using a different technique for critiquing the piece: * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author. * Can you relate to this tale of a purchase? Why or why not? * How do you feel when you compare it with your own shopping experiences? (Do you wish yours were the same? Are you glad they’re not? Give specifics.)
Note the larger word limit.
Word limit: 1500 Please use the subject line: SUB: Exercise #382/yourname
Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: I believe we will find a variety of different situations and methods in how we all shop, and in what we buy. You may find yourself in someone else’s SUB or you may remember how lucky you are to be in your own situation.
