Exercise #395

Exercise #395: Self Knowledge
Posted 11/19/10

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting flooded with spam emails again. For quite awhile there weren’t many but the last few days has seen a veritable storm of them.

Pick a spam email.

Got one? (If you’re lucky enough not to get spam, email me and I’ll give you one of mine - one with no links and no attachments.)

What do you think or feel about this? Does it make you boiling mad or blush? Do you want to run right out and get whatever they’re advertising? Show us what you go through emotionally when you receive a spam email. (Remember to put a warning on your SUB if your choice is risque!)

Please do NOT include the spam email in your post.

You may, if you wish, show a character tackling this exercise instead.

Critiquers, you might choose to answer these questions for critiquing the piece:
     * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author.
     * Can you relate to the feelings or actions represented? Why or why not?

Word limit: 1200
Please use the subject line:
             SUB: Exercise #395/yourname

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: Having you examine how you react to spam email may tell you something interesting about yourself.
