Exercise #428: Pick Six Posted 7/8/11
Roll a die three times, to give yourself three random numbers. Got 'em? Each number will correspond to a section below. The first number will be your choice from the first set of six, the second die's result will be your choice for the second set, etc. Got it? Okay, here we go.
You are sitting down to a nice dinner which includes:
1. Mashed potatoes 2. Macaroni and cheese 3. Pot roast 4. Quiche 5. Spaghetti 6. Pheasant under glass
The doorbell rings and when you answer it, you find:
1. Your ex who’s fighting for alimony 2. Your neighbor with the noisy dog 3. Your kid who’s supposed to be at a sleepover 4. A Martian 5. The Easter Bunny 6. A young man you don’t recognize, in a suit
Thinking about your dinner getting cold, your reaction is to:
1. Ask what your visitor wants 2. Say you’re not interested and close the door 3. Invite your visitor in to join you 4. Ask your visitor to come back in an hour 5. Give your visitor a pen and paper and tell them to write you a note 6. Pretend you don’t see your visitor
Now the hard part: show us what's happening. Give us the ins and outs of this and how it turns out. You may choose to have a character doing this, rather than yourself. Remember to let us know what your choices were.
