Exercise #432: Craft
Posted  8/5/11

Last week we introduced a character. Maybe that introduction was enough for the reader to decide if they like the character or not, and maybe it was enough to keep them reading, but in order to keep your audience for an entire novel, your character needs some depth.

How do you give your characters depth? Let us see your technique, give us some tips on how to do it, perhaps even show us an example or two.

C’mon, tell us how you add dimension to your characters.

Critiquers, along with the usual technical critique, answer these questions.
     1. Did the tips or technique description give you anything useful for your own characters?
     2. If there was an example, did it match what the author said they do?
