Exercise #458: Craft
Posted  3/2/12

Today's exercise comes from Richard Kirby, way back when I asked for Craft ideas with Exercise #336.

Richard suggested "indirect characterization" where one person characterizes another.

So, this week, start with two characters. Have one of them characterize the other for the reader in a way that would work in a story or novel. For instance, the detective might describe a possible criminal as s/he watches from a stakeout car.

If you need a setup, contact me off-list.

Critiquers, along with the usual grammar, spelling, etc, review, consider these questions:
     * Was this helpful to you as a writer?
     * Why or why not?

Word limit: 1200
