Exercise #743: Self Knowledge Posted 1/19/18
Are you a “definitely” person or a “maybe” person?
I asked someone about lunch the other day. “How about joining me for a chicken sandwich?” Heir response was “that should be okay.”
What’s that all about? Either the person likes chicken and has the time or she doesn’t. Was she implying I might give her food poisoning? And then I realized she does that “maybe” thing all the time, even for items that (I think) should be definite, like a chicken sandwich lunch.
I’m definitely a “definitely” person. Yes or no, no wavering. (Although sometimes I say no when I should say yes and vice versa.)
For today’s exercise, decide (if you can!) if you’re someone who answers questions like these with definitive answers or if you leave some room for the unexpected. You may give us an essay on your choice or show us a scene which illustrates it.
Critiquers, you might try answering these questions for critiquing the piece: * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author. * Could you relate to this piece? Why or why not?

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: Knowing more about yourself is always a good thing! (Isn’t it?)
