Exercise #751

Exercise #751: Self Knowledge
Posted 3/16/18

Do you over-book your time? Or are you an under-scheduler?

I recently had a “puzzle date” with a friend - we got together to do a jigsaw puzzle. Last time, it was most of the day and we ended up having dinner together. This time, as soon as she arrived at just after 2, she told me she had to leave by 4:30. She had a dinner date! (It turned out she didn’t leave until a wee bit after 5; the puzzle was a good draw.)

It would never occur to me to schedule something with someone only an hour or two after something else I’d scheduled. How about you?

For today’s exercise, either give us an essay about time management or show us a scene demonstrating which way you lean on the schedule scale.

As always, you may choose to use a character to answer this exercise.

Critiquers, you might try answering these questions for critiquing the piece:
     * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them forthe author.
     * Could you relate to this piece? Why or why not?

Word limit: 1200

             SUB: Exercise #751/yourname

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: There are pros and cons to both ways, and neither one is the “right” way. Knowing how you schedule may keep you from making commitments you can’t keep (or really don’t want to!) and may help you understand better when other folks don’t schedule the same way you do.
