What do you think is the most important thing in a story or novel? Does a good plot make your blood sing? Is it exceptionally well-rounded characters that bring you back? Is it a clearly defined setting that catches you?

Share with us your thoughts on what goes into a good story. If you like, you can also share whether you think your own skills in that area are strong or not and why.

     * Could you relate to this piece? Why or why not?
     * Was this piece helpful to you as a writer? Why or why not?
