Exercise #905

Exercise #905: Interactive
Posted 6/25/21

You were asked to submit snippets of poems or songs. Time to choose! Here are the submissions: http://www.winebird.com/html/exercise__905_prep.html. You can’t choose your own!

Today’s exercise comes to us from Sharona. Thank you! (Both for the idea and the support along the way.)

For today's exercise, pick two of the snippets submitted and use them to spark your SUB. For example, you could: literally combine them into one snippet and write from there; use them as quotations within your piece; find a single word in each that speaks to you. Stuck? Why did you choose the two you did? Think about that (or freewrite on it) and you’ll probably figure out which way to go.

When you’ve written your piece, revise it. Clean it up, shorten it if necessary, add detail where needed. (This part may result in removal of the original snippet(s) and that’s fine.)

SUB your revised work, and remember to tell us which two snippets you used.

Critiquers, along with a technical critique of the piece, you might note how well the author created something from the original snippets.

Please note the larger word limit.

Word limit: 2500
Please use the subject line:
