Exercise #932: Self Knowledge Posted 2/19/22
Contact a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. Ideally, this should be a phone call, but a text is okay, too. Email or snail mail is not, for this one. The purpose is to connect before you write your SUB.
Had your chat? Great! How did it go? How do you feel? How long will you wait for the next one?
As always, you may choose to show a character answering this exercise instead. For this one, if you’re one of those folks who keeps in constant touch with your friends, you can submit an imaginary conversation with someone you can no longer contact.
Critiquers, you might try answering these questions for critiquing the piece: * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author. * Could you relate to this piece? Why or why not?

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: Our relationships are important and I think a little piece of ourselves is lost if we don’t maintain them. This exercise might help you reconnect with someone important to you.
