Exercise #940: Self Knowledge Posted 4/15/22
This might be a harder one: What type of <blank> makes you think of <blank>?
I hear a lot about certain scents reminding people of things but tangible objects also remind me of people. A certain model year of El Camino makes me think of Jojo, who I haven't seen since 1982. A blue-gray Impala brings Terry to mind (who died in the 90s). A doberman reminds me of Ken and Barbara, who have fallen out of touch.
What triggers it for you? Trying to recall a particular one may be very difficult as these reminders tend to bring up buried or at least shelved memories, and aren't usually at one's beck and call. A scent, a song, an animal, an object...

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: I believe remembering people from our past can help us connect with the people in our present.
