Exercise #950: Question Posted 7/8/22
This morning, pre-dawn, I watched our family of gray foxes (litter of two, I believe) play in the yard next door, unaffected by the motion-sensor lights that came on and went off like delayed Morse code. The foxes are often on the roof of our shop and watch when we take our puppy outside to do her business. With them ever-present, Ihana is never off-leash, even at 1:00am in a fenced yard. The inconvenience is minimized by the wonder of a truly wild animal calmly watching from the roof's peak, less than 75 feet away.
What happens around you when you're not aware of it?
Of course, you probably don't exactly know what happens, but you're a writer, right? Use that imagination of yours. Show us a scene of the goings-on in your neck of the woods when you're not present.
You may, if you wish, show a character tackling this exercise.
Critiquers, along with a technical review, you might note how well the SUB fit the exercise.
