Exercise #982: Self Knowledge
Posted 2/17/23

Today’s exercise comes from Sue. She notes, “For sure, many of us are desensitized to what we used to call vulgar. Today’s world is not the one we grew up in.”

Think about this one for a bit, mull it over and maybe listen to some conversation somewhere you don’t normally find yourself (safely, please). Then write!

Remember to add a warning to the top of your piece.

As always, you may choose to show a character answering this exercise instead.

Critiquers, you might try answering these questions for critiquing the piece:
     * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author.
     * Could you relate to this piece? Why or why not?

Word limit: 1200
Please use the subject line:
             SUB: Exercise #982/yourname

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: Because Sue said it was. LOL But honestly, what we regard as vulgar definitely changes over time and recognizing that change in ourselves could be valuable.
